Take Ownership

To get that promotion at work isn't really rocket science.

Many go to work for the pay cheque at the end of the month. They do not really care much for the company, department that they are a part of.

Simply people are not taking ownership of what they are responsible for.

Let's put this in a different light. If your bed is damaged in your home, chances you will get it fix. If it's in a hotel room, chances are you won't bother about fixing it because it is not yours.

In the office, if you take ownership of your work, the way you think and view it will change. It becomes personal, something dear. Naturally, the desire to do better and improve things will flow out of you. Passion will be visible in the way you do things.

People will see, especially your superiors, and it will open doors of opportunities for you as you find favor with them.

So take ownership of what you are doing today. Set yourself up for promotion.

(After all if you to spend 9 hours/day at work, might as well love it.)
